(ENEDA) invites you to participate in its 9th Annual National Conference on February 24 to 27, 2011 at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City.

For the first time, we are enjoining the Entrepreneurship/PHEM faculty in DEPED supervised basic education institutions to participate in the conference and become members of the organization. As you may be well aware, ENEDA is a professional organization composed of academicians from business and accountancy, engineering, sciences, IT/computer, and agricultural schools in the tertiary; entrepreneurship educators in secondary and elementary levels; and authors, industry practitioners, lecturers, professional trainers, and media practitioners engaging in the promotion of entrepreneurship in the country.

One of the aims of the organization is to capacitate the entrepreneurship educators, both in the basic education and in the tertiary level, to be able to contribute significantly to the effective transformation of students into becoming entrepreneurs who are nation builders. For this year’s conference, we shall be hearing and interacting with our keynote speakers as they share their thoughts on the theme: Sustaining the Drive for Relevant Entrepreneurship Education. Our keynote speakers are Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education; and Dr. Satya P.

Chattopadhyay, the Chairperson of the Marketing Department, University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. There will be two (2) plenary sessions in the second day of the conference. The 1st plenary session adopts the sub-theme: “Towards Creating Responsible Entrepreneurial Leaders: Perspectives from the Academe, Industry and the Government. ” We have prominent speakers from the different sectors, who shall present to us their views on issues and concerns pertaining to curriculum, faculty re-tooling and enrollment, as they dovetail relevantly in the creation of tomorrow’s leaders in the business and industry sectors.

The 2nd plenary session will center on “Developing Entrepreneurial Leaders: Positioning the Students at the Core of Entrepreneurship Education. ” Seasoned speakers, who are leaders in their respective fields, are joining us as we emphasize the molding of character of the most important stakeholders in our efforts at making the entrepreneurship education more relevant. Arevalo, Jr. Prof. Amelia Balan The paper presentation, election of new set of officers for both the ENEDA and the Young Entrepreneurs Society -YES (the national organization of ntrepreneurial students), and the business meetings are the highlights of the 3rd day of the conference. The students will have sessions separate from the faculty/administrators and other participants. For the various annual competitions, such as Best Business Plan; Gawad ENEDA: (a) Outstanding Entrepreneurship Student of the Philippines, (b) Outstanding Entrepreneurship Educator, (c) Outstanding ENEDA Chapter; and Best Cultural Presentation, please see Attachments C for the contests mechanics. We encourage participation.

Meanwhile, the conference fee for ENEDA members in good standing follows: Option A Option B : : Food and accommodation for 3 days Food only : : P7,000 P5,000 For students, the discounted conference fee will be as follows: Option C Option D : : Food and accommodation for 3 days Food only : : P6,000 P4,000 For inactive ENEDA members, non-members, and active members whose memberships are due for renewal during the 9th conference, the conference fee will include P500 for annual due or membership fee.

Therefore, the total conference fee will be as follows: Option E Option F : : Food and accommodation for 3 days Food only : : P7,500 P5,500 In all options, the conference fee includes the registration fee of P2,500 for ENEDA members and nonmembers, and P1,500 for students. The conference fee will also cover the cost of conference kit and materials, souvenir program and certificate of attendance. Meanwhile, the participants are advised to do their own arrangement for travel early enough to be able to possibly take advantage of discounted or promo airfares.
