A good male monarch requires many features that King Lear is missing. Lear ‘s inabilities to see the truth, and place the people that are most loyal to him, finally lead him to do hapless determinations, and make a catastrophe for himself. King Lear speedy pique, and over bearing pride which lead him to ostracize the people that are dearest, and most loyal to him. King Lear has excessively many unfit features for a male monarch ; hence he does non suit to regulate the state.
In the beginning of the drama King Lear, Lear is shows as a really foolish and unwise character. His ignorance about his girls ‘ feeling for him leads him to do some really foolish determinations. ( King Lear, Act I, Sc I, 55-97 ) , Lear was being really foolish, and believes what Gonoril and Regan said. Lear was highly unwise for taking their words as their legitimate feeling for him, and gave all of the land, and his power to them. ( Act I, Sc I, 65-85 ) .
Lear ‘s Tragedy begins as he gave all of his power off. To do affairs worse, he banishes some of the most loyal people to him. Besides dividing a state in two and giving it to two Queenss would be a really bad thought. It would be like a ship with two captains, it will finally ensue in internal struggle.
Unlike Gloucester, Lear has his perfect oculus sights. However Lear inability to see things as how they truly are cost him greatly. Lear has mental sightlessness for the state of affairs. ( Act I, Sc I, 110-182 ) , Lear banishes the lone two people who are loyal to him. Kent is the lone loyal retainer, and Cordelia is the lone girl who shows that she lawfully loves her male parent. Lear ‘s inability to distinguish the good from the bad people proven that he is unfit to regulate.
Lear is the tragic hero of the drama, even though he realizes his error, and attempted to repair them. His folly and sightlessness cause the people who love him to endure. Lear ‘s speedy pique and overbearing pride leads him to do really irrationalize determinations, and causes catastrophe for himself, the people he loves, and his state. Dividing the land, and allow it be govern by two Queenss, is the most stupid determination a male monarch can do, because that would guarantee the devastation of the land. Besides, a male monarch will ne’er give all his power off, and left himself with nil. Based on all the determinations king Lear have made in the drama, I do non believe Lear is fit to regulate his state.
