Lear ‘s Tragedy begins as he gave all of his power off. To do affairs worse, he banishes some of the most loyal people to him. ( Act I, Sc I, 110-122 ) , he disowns his favourite girl because she is stating her truth feeling for him. He has excessively much pride to protect. He was excessively abashed because Cordelia did non blandish him like his other two girls. “ nil will come of nothingaˆ¦ ” ( Act I, Sc I 93 ) , this foreshadow Lear ‘s stoping, because he decides to give Cordelia nil, no land, nor power, so he ended up with nil. It was merely another feature of Lear that does non suit for a male monarch to hold, overbearing pride. Besides, a male monarch needs to be able to state his girl ‘s true love for him from sham one.

Lear is depicted as an old male monarch ; nevertheless he is non at all a wise male monarch. The antonym of what is widely believe, “ age comes with wisdom ” . ( Act I, Sc IV, 162-175 ) , even the sap is doing merriment of Lear for giving all his power off. Besides Lear is powerless to make anything to the sap, because he has given all his power off. ( Act I, Sc IV, 185-205 ) , this proves Lear ‘s inability to see things. Even the sap has notice that Lear did non hold any more power. Yet Lear is still in denial. Lear was really ignorance of the state of affairs, by giving the state to his girls. He thought that he was merely given away his responsibility to his girls, and was still maintaining the power to himself. That was a really foolish thought for any male monarch, particularly one at his age. If Lear was wise, he would hold realized that responsibility goes side by side with power. Besides dividing a state in two and giving it to two Queenss would be a really bad thought. It would be like a ship with two captains, it will finally ensue in internal struggle.

Unlike Gloucester, Lear has his perfect oculus sights. However Lear inability to see things as how they truly are cost him greatly. Lear has mental sightlessness for the state of affairs. ( Act I, Sc I, 55-97 ) , a good male monarch would be able to see through his girls ‘ manipulative addresss, and their program to dethrone him. In Lear ‘s instance, he was mentally blinded by their addresss, and believes them. A good male monarch would hold bases their actions on what he saw from them, non what he heard from them.

Lear ‘s sightlessness leads to his many hapless judgements, and determinations. He gave everything he has off and left nil for himself. So he is wholly powerless to his girls. ( Act II, Sc IV, the whole scene ) , Lear ‘s girls is depriving him of every last bead of power he possesses, the finally kick him out of the castle, and into the storm. ( Act I, Sc I, 110-182 ) , Lear banishes the lone two people who are loyal to him. Kent is the lone loyal retainer, and Cordelia is the lone girl who shows that she lawfully loves her male parent. Lear ‘s inability to distinguish the good from the bad people proven that he is unfit to regulate.

Lear is the tragic hero of the drama, even though he realizes his error, and attempted to repair them. His folly and sightlessness cause the people who love him to endure. Lear ‘s speedy pique and overbearing pride leads him to do really irrationalize determinations, and causes catastrophe for himself, the people he loves, and his state. Dividing the land, and allow it be govern by two Queenss, is the most stupid determination a male monarch can do, because that would guarantee the devastation of the land. Besides, a male monarch will ne’er give all his power off, and left himself with nil. Based on all the determinations king Lear have made in the drama, I do non believe Lear is fit to regulate his state.
